And, yes, I do realize that the most likely explanation is someone simply made a mistake but it's more fun this way.

I Don't [bleep] Get It
So we are watching TV with the closed caption on since my husband has some hearing loss. It's much better than having a full blown IMAX experience in your considerably smaller than a theater living room, trust me. Anyway, I happened to notice that certain words in the text were replaced with [bleep] yet I distinctly recall hearing the word spoken and not a [bleep]. So I had my husband rewind it to that spot (gotta love the DVR) and sure enough, the word was bleeped out in the text even though the person clearly spoke the word. So that tells me that we can hear the word but we can't read the word?!? Who the [bleep] made that rule?!?

New Year's Resolution
So, it's that time of year again, when inevitably, some one will ask about your New Year's Resolution. In years past, it would have been the typical - lose weight, get fit, save money, yada, yada, yada. But this year, I have decided to BE HAPPY. Seriously, that is my New Year's Resolution. To just be happy. Everyday. No excuses. Now, please mind that I am not talking about making any radical changes in my life, just adjusting my attitude. Life will always offer up challenges and injustices. It's how I CHOOSE to respond that will ultimately define me and my personal happiness.

Caveat Emptor
In what world is someone considered to be an expert when they have absolutely no firsthand experience of the subject matter in which they claim an expertise?? It's a rhetorical question, of course, with a heavy dose of sarcasm, but unfortunately this type of expertise is sold to us, the public, all the time.

Learnings
I want to share the following piece titled, "Learnings". I don't know who the author is but they have definitely answered the question, "What is wrong with people today"?
Learnings
We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers;
wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints;
we spend more, but have less;
we buy more, but enjoy it less.
We have bigger houses, but smaller families;
more conveniences, but less time;
we have more degrees , but less sense;
more knowledge, but less judgment;
more experts, but more problems;
more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much,
smoke too much,
spend too recklessly,
laugh too little,
drive too fast,
get too angry,
jump too quickly,
stay up too late,
get up too tired,
read too seldom,
watch TV too much,
and pray too seldom.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values.
We talk too much, love too seldom and lie too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life.
We've added years to life, not life to years.
We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor.
We've conquered outer space, but not inner peace.
We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul.
We've split the atom, but not our prejudice.
We write more, but learn less.
We plan more, but accomplish less.
We've learned to rush, but not to wait.
We have higher incomes, but lower morals.
We have more food, but less appeasement.
We build more computers to hold more information,
to produce more copies than ever,
but have less communication.
We've become long on quantity, but short on quality.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion.
Tall men and short character.
Steep profits and shallow relationships.
These are the times of world peace, but domestic warfare;
more leisure and less fun;
more kinds of food, but less nutrition.
These are the days of quick trips,
disposable diapers,
throwaway morality,
one night stands,
overweight bodies and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.
It is a time when there is much in the show window
and nothing in the stockroom;
a time when technology can bring this letter to YOU
and a time when you can CHOOSE either to make a difference
or to just hit delete...
choose delete
and you forfeit your right to complain.
Please feel free to share this with everyone you know. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Sometimes just that one small gesture can trigger the same from others...and so on...and so on.
